ATV Oil and Lubes Market Report for 2009

ATV Oils and Lubes

“Not all ATV oils are the same. Whether your customers are racers, ride for sport, or use their ATV or UTV for more farm or work related activities, the importance of protecting their investment doesn’t change,” stated Carter Olcott of Bel-Ray Company. As ATVs continue to become more advanced, the oil must be formulated to keep up with the demands of these machines in order to provide the best possible protection. The following companies have offered up their latest ATV oils and lubricants for this month’s Market Report.

AMSOIL Formula 4 StrokeĆ powersports synthetic motor oil

AMSOIL Formula 4 StrokeĆ powersports synthetic motor oil (AFF) is specially formulated for four stroke ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles, announced spokesperson Len Groom. He told us this oil is designed to reduce wear, is wet clutch compatible and contains no friction modifiers. “Its broad viscosity range makes it excellent for use in both hot and cold weather conditions,” Groom explained, adding, “Its SAE 40 properties provide protection for hot operating engines while its 0w rating and -60_F pour point provide excellent cold weather starting.” When buying this oil, consumers need to know AFF is “made from the finest base stocks and uses max dose additive technology to ensure that their equipment performs well in all conditions and extreme environments that are common in the world of ATVs,” Groom told stores. He concluded by saying, “Regardless of the economy AMSOIL has always strived to provide oil that helps prolong the life and maintain the performance level of your customer’s ATV. In today’s economy that concept has become very important to the rider who may be keeping their ATV longer than they traditionally have.”

Bel-Ray ATV Trail Motor Oil

“Our Bel-Ray ATV Trail Motor Oil features our exclusive rust defense system (RDS) which uses specially formulated additives and technology to protect ATV engines from the harmful effects of moisture,” informed Channel Marketing Manager Carter Olcott. He continued by saying, “Bel-Ray’s RDS adds a unique boost to rust preventive additives so that the Bel-Ray ATV Trail Motor Oil has a higher level of effectiveness over competing brands against moisture build-up in engines.” The oil is said to be offered in SAE Grades 10w30 and 10w40 and it, as well as the Bel-Ray ATV Racing Motor Oil, reportedly offers superior wear protection in high revving engines, as well as engines that experience extreme load demands. “Our marketing strategy always has the dealer in mind and is constantly working hard to push people through their doors asking for Bel-Ray,” explained Olcott. He continued by telling stores, “We ask people to support their local dealers that support us and our sport and so far we are seeing and hearing positive results from it. We will also initiate a Web based program to help riders easily find local dealers and order from their online stores if they have them.”
